When were you at Catterick?

What was Wolfie's first name?

Just questions....

Woolfie went to 51 Sqn after II? Fuck me.

Welcome to RockNet... I've "promoted" you to Rock - you'll see more stuff now.

Fill yer boots... Though it is a tad slow here of late... I think we all died...

Cheers for that, yes he was at 51 when I arrived. Took me for my welcome airfield "beasting" as a sprog welcome to the Sqn, (with Skitz Landless..).
Here we go then lets see if we can find some names out there..

Hi.
I'm not ex-Regiment. However, I was hoping to find some information regarding my late father's service. He joined as the Regiment was formed in 1942 and served as a bofors gunner in the UK, until being posted to the Far East in 1944 (I think). He served with 2852 Squadron.
It's this later service I'm especially interested in. I believe he wasn't demobbed until well into 1946, possibly a year or more after the year's end, and I think 2852 was disbanded in March 1946. I believe he was sent to Sumatra (then the Dutch East Indies) after the end of the war, and saw action against local "insurgents", or bandits as I remember he called them. What his unit was between 2852 being disbanded and when he came home I don't know.
I'd like to get some stuff on the forum if that's acceptable, but, having registered, I don't seem able to do so.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Ratae:

Welcome to RockNet.

We were being bombarded by spammers so your registration needed approval by me to open things up.

You might want to start browsing here in the History section. You might find some info there. If not give me a yell, I have a book that is pretty detailed about the period that might have something you're looking for.

Jerry Sage... There's a name from the past...

You were on II Sqn in 1979 when I arrived and, if memory serves you were still there a year or so later... You were one of the old hands to a sprog like me...
