On the night of the 28th/29th June we suffered a power outage. Normally that wouldn't be amajor issue but this time it popped the power supply in the box. Again, this wouldn't normally be a problem because in the morning I'd nip round the corner and buy a new one. What made this occasion a problem was that I had to leave to drive a 10 hour drive to Wisconsin and I had to go by 0600 which is a bit early for the stores. The trip to Wisconsin was planned for 10 days also so there was nothing I could do until I returned. I got back at 1830 last night and the store opened at 1100 this am. As I write this it is 1132 local time so I'm calling it a 32 minute response time...

You been off-line Ginge? Hadn’t noticed. Us white, racist, xenophobic, little Englanders have been too busy watching the political ‘elite’ ripping strips off each other (it’s better than watching Game of Thrones). Attachment: original.jpg

WELCOME BACK. I had to contact various other "ROCKNETERS" to find out WTF was Happening.
May I suggest that you pay your Lecky Bill by Direct Debt in future.
Once again, Welcome Back.
Regards, Shakers.

Norman:
Would that it were as simple as paying the bill on time.
The Yanks have an annoying habit of transporting much of their electricity overhead rather than underground. It's vulnerable to just about everything as is proven when the weather as much as farts...

As an X-Pat here in the US I can concur with what Ginge is saying. Not so bad since moving to CA 3 years ago (maybe because they need to be somewhat earthquake proof) but Texas was terrible. Any gust of wind would knock out traffic lights causing huge traffic jams and any weather above "gust" would knock out homes for miles around. Really took a bit of getting used to. I guess the reason is the size of the place compared to a Euro country but still you would think they could do better with this.
Mind you this is coming from Texas, the people that gave us George Bush.

I can understand the problem in that VAST area and why it is imposible to bury the cables. On the other hand here in the UK there seems to be more Power Stations than there are Macdonalds.
Good Luck to you all.

Yorky: SWMBO was coming with me. It's the annual family fishing camp with the BiL... She'd have been a bit pissed if I told her she was staying home...
