I'm looking for anyone, (absolutely anyone), who was part of the Royal Tournament back in the early 80's, (1983 I believe), when the theme was "The French Resistance/The Blitz or something similar". The show started in darkness with a spotlight on a table with soldiers around it transmitting a "Broadsword calling Danny Boy" type message. Then the spotlight flicked to the other end of the arena where resistance types were receiving the message. This was followed by the sound of a bomber getting louder and passing overhead. As it passed overhead two parachutes with men dressed as WWII aircrew came out of the ceiling. I was one of those two chaps but, as was woefully the case back then, I took no pictures and kept no momentos.
If anyone has pictures/video of those parachutists or any other part of the Tournament that year, or knows who I can contact, (Google was not really my friend), I would greatly appreciate it.
Attached is the cover of the programme for 1983 and is about the only relevant thing I can find.

I found the Massed Bands of the RAF playing there against the backdrop - I'd forgotten that thing altogether.

Sorry matey was way before my time...although I may of been in the crowd watching it as a sprog as my dear old grandma took me every year.looked online and still no joy for 1983...found this though from 1998.
I am sure Les Parren used to do the absailing / para bit at the royal ??? he had a MBE for it if i remember ? I think he may still be at Benson on 606. he would be able to help I'm sure of it.

OK.. I found a copy of the programme on Ebay... The US one not the UK one??? It was in British Columbia and cost me the princely sum of $6, (about 3 quid). It arrived last night... Now all I need is that video if me and I'll be a happy little Rock... It has to be out there somewhere.
