Nice one Ginge, remember it well. When that was made times were different. We could never suspect that we that served on Operation Banner would have the same British Parliament that sent us there to keep the peace in a filthy, political street war, to prosecute us for being there. That is effectively what has happened isn't it. A result of appeasement of the very people that we were sent in there to stop terrorising the British citizen that lived there. The same people that killed and maimed many thousands of those same British citizens and British Servicemen. Bastards, I would no longer recommend anyone to join the Armed Services, why would you? :( :(

You know what Bill, I think we lived in the "Golden Age" of the British Military in terms of being a "grunt".

We could tour overseas in places that were good to be in without having to be fighting a war. We were well looked after - 4 travel warrants a year - food and accom taken at source and inexpensive - LOA on overseas dets - etc. etc.

Before that it was WWII, WWI, the Boer War... overseas dets tended to be putting down local uprisings in the Empire and it seems the food and accom probably sucked...

Since then it seems you only have two places to go overseas, they are both hot and sandy and people are shooting or bombing you... It seems that nowadays the lads and lasses almost have to pay for that privilege and they can't even have a bevvy while you're there... and to put a cap on it half your country think you're some kind of murderous arsehole that is a danger to them... Cunts of course, but that's it anyway...

When I found out that the IRA were a Gladio sponsered group ,like Baader Mienhoff etc ,it made my blood boil and made me think of doing some very unkind things to the sponsers :) . I dont like being decieved at all . That Starts with the Brit Govt., and extends to europe . Fucking Fucks . The worst bit is that they are still at it . State sponsered terrorism is worldwide now . So I agree with Bill...If you are a decent young person you should never sign up ...never . Home land defense would be the only exception . You will end up killing people with no understanding of why , or what for . Sure the Ira etc deserved the heat ..but they were a symptom , not the cause .
I slung my Ni service medal ...I felt ashamed to have a token of my innocent ignorance pinned on my chest. It could have been me lying on the bomb . ( Probably Semtex out of the Gladio inventory..as was 85% of the Ira arsenal ..the rest came from the States ).
It grips me no end that the Mil Int , Mi6 etc KNEW about this and didnt even try to stop it . In fact they encouraged it and gave assistance to these groups ..the Ira were just one of them . It was Mi6 that targeted Mountbatten because his pedo / satanic activities were coming out . A splinter group did the job . The Ira got the credit . And the creep got a state funeral .
On the bright side ...and more currant ...we live in a changing world ..and the worst of the Fucks are not very likely to see much more of it . They keep having accidents . . Its called Blowback . And Covid 19 just guaranteed that Deep State is going to go down . The Italian crew are not fucking happy ( Mafia ) the Asians ( Tongs )too. The American KoshaNuestra have just picked the wrong fight . Again .
Some of the Fucking Fucks are fleeing to far off places .... With a private army and air force just to feel safe . These fucks buy whole countries , and no one notices... Well ..no one that can take on the scum . That is..Well... Er..Ummm...Changing ! :)
So how far off Topic is that !
I had tears in my eyes when I heard the song and watched the Video. I guess that I am properly sensitive.
Chopper.

Chopper:

One thing in your response caught my eye and for the benefit of history I'll elucidate... You said:-

Quote:
A splinter group did the job . The Ira got the credit

I believe we were in NI when Mountbatten got popped... If we weren't we got there right after because it was August 1979, (actually, I'm not sure you were on II at that time - I think I was on II six months or more before you)... and I was working Int at the time.

The splinter group was INLA, (the Irish National Liberation Army)... They were such a bunch of cunts that the PIRA threw them out so they went off on their own. INLA firmly got the credit for Mountbatten's death in the Int world and in the terrorist world. The IRA promptly utterly disowned them publicly and there were a couple of "disciplinary" actions taken by PIRA against INLA members.

INLA lasted a very short time after that... They had a couple of "big" successes but they didn't benefit the Republican cause and were vilified by both PIRA and OIRA...

Damn, I loved having so much access to so much information as a nothing in a fucking huge machine that could disaffect people that do harm to others because they are fucking retards...

Did that make sense? :-D

Hi,

By chance I've just finished

"Tail - End Charlies"

By John Nicol & Tony Rennel.

The last battles of the Bomber War 1944 - 1945.

Tales of Rear Gunners flying in Lancasters.

See attached quotes from pages 388 and 389.

Hi Ginge ..You are totally right ...I wasnt in the mob activley at that time ..Yup The splinter group was excommunicated from " normal " Ira terrorist sanction and political justification . The Ira had no fucking clue as to what they were dealing with ...
The MilInt at the time could only be described as spastic . An oxymoron . Fish and chips to feed the lads and fuck all else.
Well , Er ...Ummm ..As you may have worked out ..I have a different system to detect skullduggery and Fucking Fucks ....... and also to read and comprehend stuff that is valididated , past , or even presant , and maybe more .
All that aside ...It is great that at least you have some grasp of what is what ...all those many years ago  ..Loads less complicated than the score now
